Safe Wheel Cleaner

Not all wheel cleaners are safe for all wheel finishes. Acidic or highly alkaline formulas may cut through brake dust quickly, but they can also strip protective coatings, dull chrome, and damage painted or powder-coated surfaces with repeated use. Safe Wheel Cleaner takes a different approach. It's a non-acidic, pH-balanced formula designed to remove brake dust, road grime, and surface contamination from any wheel finish without the risk of chemical damage to the surface underneath.

Works on Every Wheel Finish

Chrome wheels, painted rims, polished aluminum, powder-coated wheels, and custom-finish alloys all respond well to Safe Wheel Cleaner because the formula doesn't rely on aggressive acids or strong alkalis to do its job. Instead, it uses targeted cleaning agents that break the bond between brake dust and the wheel surface, allowing contamination to rinse away cleanly without requiring heavy scrubbing that could leave fine scratches on delicate finishes.

Brake dust is one of the most corrosive substances that lands on wheels during normal driving. It contains metallic particles from the brake pads and rotors that embed into wheel surfaces and, if left long enough, begin to pit and etch even hard chrome finishes. Cleaning wheels regularly with Safe Wheel Cleaner prevents that buildup from becoming permanent damage and keeps the wheel surface looking sharp between details.

Application

Spray Safe Wheel Cleaner directly onto the wheel surface. Work on one wheel at a time to prevent the product from drying before you can rinse it. Allow the cleaner to sit for 30 to 60 seconds while it works on bonded contamination. Agitate with a wheel brush or spoke brush to help lift stubborn brake dust from crevices, spoke gaps, and the inner barrel. Rinse thoroughly with a strong stream of water. For best results, dry immediately with a clean microfiber towel to prevent water spots on the wheel face.

For heavily contaminated wheels that haven't been cleaned recently, a second application and more aggressive agitation with a brush may be needed to fully remove embedded grime. Once cleaned, regular maintenance washing at every car wash keeps contamination from bonding to the surface and makes each subsequent cleaning faster.

Best Results

• Clean wheels when cool, not immediately after driving
• Use a dedicated wheel brush to reach spoke gaps and inner barrels
• Rinse completely to prevent product residue from drying on the surface
• Follow up with wheel polish on chrome and aluminum for added protection

After cleaning, pair Safe Wheel Cleaner with the Aluminum and Chrome Wheel Polish to restore and protect polished wheel surfaces. For tires, follow up with Black and White Tire Cleaner to remove oxidation and old dressing before applying fresh tire shine.
