Leather loses moisture over time. Heat, UV exposure, and daily use all contribute to leather drying out, and the consequences show progressively: first the surface starts to feel stiff, then it develops a faded, cracked look, and eventually the material splits along stress lines at the seat bolsters, steering wheel grip areas, and door panel edges. Conditioning leather regularly is the single most effective thing you can do to prevent this progression. Liquid Leather Conditioner is a premium, deeply penetrating moisturizing treatment that replenishes the oils leather needs to stay soft, flexible, and crack-resistant.

What the Conditioner Does

The formula is a liquid lotion that absorbs into the leather rather than sitting on the surface as a coating. This matters because leather conditioning that only coats the surface doesn't address the drying that occurs below the surface, where structural flexibility is maintained. Liquid Leather Conditioner's penetrating formula reaches deeper into the leather grain and restores the moisture balance across the material's thickness, not just at the top layer.

Conditioning also restores color and suppleness to leather that has faded or stiffened from sun exposure. Leather that looks flat or feels boardy responds to conditioner application visibly, with color deepening and surface texture softening within minutes of application. For leather that has been neglected, two or three conditioning sessions spaced a few days apart gives the leather time to absorb moisture progressively and produces better results than a single heavy application.

UV and Environmental Protection

Beyond moisture, Liquid Leather Conditioner creates a protective layer on the leather surface that slows UV penetration and reduces the rate at which the sun bleaches and dries leather surfaces exposed through the windshield and side windows. Vehicles parked outside regularly see significantly accelerated leather degradation from UV compared to garaged vehicles. Conditioning at least every 30 to 60 days provides ongoing protection in addition to maintaining suppleness.

How to Apply

Start with clean leather. Apply a small amount of Liquid Leather Conditioner to a soft microfiber applicator or clean cloth. Work the conditioner into the leather in circular or back-and-forth motions across the full surface. Allow it to absorb for 5 to 10 minutes. Buff off any excess with a clean cloth. For very dry leather, apply a second coat after the first has fully absorbed.

For best results, always clean leather before conditioning. Use Auto Leather Cleaner to remove contamination before each conditioning session so the conditioner penetrates clean leather rather than sealing in grime. Between sessions, maintain leather with the Aerosol Vinyl and Leather Cleaner Oil of Mink for quick cleaning and light conditioning in a single step.
